Dodge/Chrysler VIN Swap & Programming

Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, and Ram vehicles use a networked system where every major control module — the PCM (Powertrain Control Module), BCM (Body Control Module), instrument cluster, TIPM (Totally Integrated Power Module), and WIN module — must share the same VIN and security credentials. When any of these modules is replaced with a new or used unit, it arrives with a different VIN or no VIN at all. The vehicle will not function correctly until the replacement module is programmed with the correct VIN and synchronized with the rest of the network.

This process requires Chrysler's proprietary wiTECH diagnostic platform and a secure internet connection to Stellantis's servers. Many independent repair shops do not have wiTECH access, which means they physically install the module but cannot complete the programming step. Our mobile technicians carry the full wiTECH setup and maintain active subscriptions, allowing us to perform VIN writes, module configurations, and security key learning at any location.

Common scenarios include: replacing a failed PCM and needing VIN + immobilizer programming, swapping a BCM due to electrical damage and needing key re-learning, installing a used instrument cluster and needing mileage and VIN correction, and replacing a TIPM that controls fuel pump and relay functions.
